Taking My Toes to SOAK for the Summer
Summer is the perfect time to get a pedicure, and I was long overdue for one. This is my second visit to SOAK, and the first time at their SouthCreek location.
While I was there, I ordered their iconic Pink Drink and flipped through the SOAK magazine at my chair. It was chock-full of amazing content and tons of great nail design inspo!
One of the add-ons I opted for was the Jelly Bath upgrade. From the brand Gel-Ohh, the jelly baths come in so many different scents, such as pineapple, peppermint, cannabis, or citrus. Just slush it around with your feet and watch it puff up from a liquid to jelly! I soaked my feet in the warm water until it cooled down, then added the dilution minerals to dissolve them. The sensations were interesting, as I’ve never done a jelly bath before. As someone who struggles with different types of textures, I didn’t know what to expect, but overall it was relaxing.
After my feet were rinsed, dried, and the stainless steel water bowl was replaced with fresh hot water, it was time to start the Fresh SOAK pedicure. I went in originally wanting a peachy pale color, but a vibrant coral shade caught my eye and I didn’t look back.
After all, pedicures are better in the summer, and not just for aesthetics. It’s known that hot weather can cause feet and ankles to swell, so the foot massages offered during pedicures improve circulation and reduce puffiness. I appreciated the lemongrass lotion and scrubs that my technician used. And the massage was indeed much needed for my feet after a weekend of hiking.
Overall, the vibe at SOAK was amazing, welcoming, and fresh - something that sets it apart from the other nail salons in the area.
