20 Years of SOAK: Celebrating Two Decades in Reno

Twenty years ago, SOAK started with an idea.

In 2006, Washoe County teacher Shannon Dunlap took a leap and created something Reno hadn’t experienced before: a place where elevated nail care, cocktails, connection and a little escape from everyday life could all exist under one roof.

That idea became SOAK Lounge.

And this September, we’re celebrating 20 incredible years in Reno.

From a Local Idea to a Reno Favorite

A lot can change in 20 years. Trends come and go, Reno continues to grow, and the way we think about wellness has evolved.

But one thing has stayed at the heart of SOAK: creating a place where people can take a moment for themselves.

Over the years, you’ve trusted us with your manicures and pedicures, but also with so much more.

We’ve been part of birthdays, bridal parties, date nights, family traditions, catch-ups between old friends and those random afternoons when you just needed an hour to yourself.

And yes, there have been plenty of Pink Drinks along the way.

For every appointment, celebration, cocktail and moment you’ve shared with us over the past two decades: thank you, Reno.

A New Season at SOAK

September brings that unmistakable feeling of change to Northern Nevada. Summer starts winding down, routines return and fall gives us a chance to reset.

After 20 years, it feels like the perfect time for a new season at SOAK, too.

We’re celebrating our anniversary with new seasonal cocktails, new offerings and expanded wellness experiences, including our new sound baths.

Because wellness doesn’t have to mean booking an entire day away from your life.

It can be a manicure after work.

A pedicure and cocktail with your best friend.

A sound bath when your mind needs some quiet.

An hour that belongs entirely to you.

Wellness can be a moment. Any moment.

For 20 years, we’ve believed taking time for yourself should feel welcoming—not intimidating or exclusive.

SOAK is a place for women, men and children. Come for the nails. Come for the cocktails. Come for the company. Come because you need a little quiet.

Twenty years later, we’re still here, still evolving and still incredibly grateful to call Reno home.
